[Sell] How much for a brand-new GRD I?

Hi all,
I have the chance to acquire a brand-new, in the box, demoed Ricoh GRD (first model). How much do you think this is worth from a reputable dealer? The camera has been sitting in the store for a while so I think I might be able to haggle a bit...

It depends... Before you take it, make sure the camera responds OK on ADJ wheel presses/scrolling. "Sticky" ADJ wheel/erratic menu response is a known GRDI problem. And it seems it has nothing to do with how much the ADJ wheel has been used. It rather seems to be a problem of camera age! Maybe some lubricant gets sticky after some amount of time? So even if the camera was sitting inside the glass box all this time, it's most probably not immune to this "sticky" behavior. You can find many discussions about this problem here at RicohForum, DPReview forum or Flickr discussions.

I think 200 USD may be fair price for nearly new/not used GRDI? But because of the sticky ADJ wheel, I personally would not pay more than 100USD.

Mmh, that does not sound too good. Didn't know that the GRD had that kind of problem. I hate the thought to have a camera that is basically a timebomb. Reason why I never seriously considered many otherwise superb cameras (Leica Minilux, Pentax LX, Konica Hexar, to name but a few with well-known faults): With my kind of luck, the camera breaks down right when the aliens land in front of my car on the lonely road.

I have grd1 and I am still using it sometimes without any issues...
