How many pics with a full charged battery ?

today i did about 800 pics with my GRD IV (in DNG and GPG format) and later about 6 - 10 pics with 2 alcaline AA (or AAA ?, the smallest...) battery.

do you have similar result or is something wrong with my camera ?

I think as long as you have a genuine fully charged battery, shooting full wack just go for a fast SDHC card.
The off the shelf batteries are really just to get you out of a jam. They are readily available, but under powered for flash & full wack data transfer..

I've never discharged a battery in a single shoot but expect around 250 JPEGs with a Ricoh DB65....I think up to 20 is all you should expect with AAAs...a lot will depend upon how you are using the camera - on all the time? on & off as required? flash? etc.

Got 2148 pics in JPEG for a time lapse from a GX100 with aftermarket battery fully charged. Would of kept going if I hadn't pulled the pin to move on. Did have a big SD card on board. But then again they are only JPEGs.

thanks for the answers.

today i did 720 pics with the full battery /jpg and raw, no flash) and the battery was not empty at the end. :D

in the manual ricoh write there are 2 ricoh compatible batteries type i think.

which should be the better one ?

As 33dollars' post above shows you can use the DB60 or the newer DB65. The DB60 is 1150mAh whereas the DB65 has a 1250mAh capacity so should give you around 8% more shots. Both use the BJ-6 charger.

Hi Sergiozh,

720 pics is a magic number to me!

DB-65 battery can let my GRD IV take 280 jpg pics with LCD screen on but without using flash. [I took these 280 pics in one month, average shutter speed: 1/30 - 1/100]

Which modes did you use?
Did you turn off LCD screen during shooting?
Did you take the total 720 pics in the same day?

Thanks in advance.

i took many days about 800 pics with the GRD IV at the same day in differents museums (no flash but with LCD screen on).

sometime the camera was off and sometimes i put the lcd off to safe the batteries but i think is quite good.....

maybe i will buy a second battery.....

with the small AA (or AAA ?) batteries i just had problems: very few pic and the camera that can't go off (close). Better not to try or just in a really emergency (like if you see an aurora borealis at your home...)

sorry for the late answer, i had no internet for long time in holiday......
