Dear all,

i must say that i quite like the new High Contrast B&W Mode!
The shots are straight from the camera. I made them on a hiking trip close to where i life, south of munich/germany.

Greetings, Daniel

Very nice. Maybe the compression of JPG is to heavy.

I like it is taken during the day but it seems it is the night

I like it very much! Kind of surreal?

South of Munich? It really reminds me of Neuschwanstein Castle surroundings, what a beautiful scenery!

Dear all,

thank you very much. I am glad all of you like it!
@rui: Yes, in fact the castle Neuschwanstein is only 50km from here. The location of my trip was the Walchensee area wich is also located on the north end of the alps.

I also like the surreal mood. I had the meter set to spot mode and did meassure the sky to archive this exposure.

Best wishes, Daniel

These looks really great David! I was not sure about the use of high contrast mode, but you showed a perfect example what it is good for. Thanks for sharing them!

Pretty nice and grainy, who needs low noise sensors ;-)

Like the last one best but would suggest to crop some from top and bottom (maybe only bottom since this a bit too dark for my taste).

Always great to walk above the clouds! We don't typically have that here in the Netherlands.

Thanks again to all of you for the kind words!

@pavel: i found the new mode useful for a number of scenes. Portraits are very nice as well. However this mode is in particular dependent on exakt light metering. Due to the narrow range between b&w the effect changes dramatically upon different lighting conditions. Try to do some kind of high key portraits with it, really nice ...

@remko: good point remco. In fact a 3/2 crop looks better, you are correct. Being above the clouds really is fantastic. However your country location is better suited for another hobby of mine, kiting :)

All the best, Daniel
