Hi all, just got my gx200 back after two and a half months! (away for repair) great to get it back. I used an old lica IIIf (1953)for my street work for a long while, and started looking for a new small camera for street work and to take portrates of my son with. I chose the ricoh for its controls, which I just love, the camera really feels like its mine as I can customise so much on it, and it makes it so good to use. its obviously been designed by photographers. great to see this forum and to look at everybodys work. the gxr looks interesting doesnt it? :)

Hi Ricohnick and welcome back! I hope we will soon see loads of photos with your fixed gx200 or Leica? Do you have a public gallery?

As for GXR, despite many negatives written here or there, I think it's great idea. But it have yet to unleash its true power. After a week spent with GXR and both lensors, I see many good but also bad things. A12 AF is slow like a hell, there are some artificial limitations in number of available shutter speeds for selected apertures, the FW is not entirely stable yet and the first two lensors are not something most people expect or want to see. And I think Ricoh will eventually have to release a unit with APSC sensor and lens mount (manual lenses will be OK). But for the nearest future, they have to fix the FW problems, try to make the A12 AF a little bit faster or at least implement some manual focus helpers. And of course, release some low profile/fast prime lenses ;)

hi odklizec, yes I think GXR has problems definetly, but I still put it at the top of my wish list with the 50mm lens!
my gx200 is working fine now and I'm enjoying it. :)
