Help with GR IV low ISO defaults

I'm trying to get used to my GR IV (new to me).

I did some shooting yesterday, all aperture priority. I noticed that even though I have my Auto ISO set to go as high as 800, all my shots the GR opted to lower shutter speed instead of ISO.

So as it is, most of my shots were around ISO 80-120 but the shutters were all 30th/sec or lower which resulted in mostly blurry shots.

I'm guessing I have something set wrong but can't figure out what. I'd much rather have it boost the ISO than lower the shutter.

Take a look at menu, set-up (3rd tab with the spanner& screwdrive symbol) then page 1/4 where you should find a line called ISO Auto-High Settings. Enter that line and look at the value set for change shutter speed. I'm guessing that it is a slow speed. Change it to the minimum shutter speed you want to use and when the camera can't use that speed with a low ISO it will change to a faster ISO.

Aha, it was set to Auto, though why it would default to such low ISOs is beyond me. No one is hand holding very well below a 50/th or 60th.

I've changed it to a 60th. I hope that does it, thanks!

I hope things are working out for you now. My other recommendation is to try dynamic range compensation (page 2/3 on the shooting menu) with it set to auto and the white balance set to multi-P auto. If you then adjust the exposure for the highlights, the DRC will bring-up detail in the darker areas. It really works!
