Please ecuse m but I learn't English at school and may be I won't write it very well.
So I'm in France, and I bought a Ricoh GRD one week ago.
I've worked with a SLR and I'll still do it.
But I need a smaller APN for each day, and I'd a good oportunity for this GRD I.
8 MPix are enough for a dairy work, and I just begin to discover this GRD.
So see you soon with my first photos...

The most special is that I've to use screen and no more.
But I'm happy... because there is RAW and I enjoy using it!

Hi Gyl and welcome here! I hope you will find this forum useful and enjoyable. Please don't hesitate to post some pics, even those made with your DSLR. BTW, don't worry about your English! Many of us have English as a second/third language ;)

My English is not so good either, but my Australian is ok. I only know a couple of French words, usually involving food! :)

And I've really be surprised to see that the GRD is an universal DSLR.
You're coming from such different countries. I never saw that before!
 
There are just three weeks that I'm there, and I discovered a very nice forum.
Photographers who enjoy photo befor enjoying camera and pixels and so on.
Photos with emotion, with simplicity, with pleasure, so really nice photos!
I've now a GRD I for B&W, and a GRD II for colors; I discover this happiness too.

A warm welcome from me also! The photographs speak for themselves, so language is not so important, I would say!

You're wright when you say than photos speak from themselves.
Perhaps it is the reason that means why I don't use Photoshop.
I juste prefere Gimp to adjust some things a litte but no more.
 
Il left you when I sold my GRD I and GRD II, because I needed a DSLR.
I finished my work with it. And I'd so many regrets than I've just bought... a X100.
And I also need to come here again, because of nice Photos I saw, and because it's a friendly place.
