HDR DNG & JPG

You can't bracket in RAW with the GRDII. So I shot these in RAW @ 2,4 & 8 seconds, Sepia, Color Depth +1 Contrast & Sharpness +2
I get home to process them with Photomatix Pro 3 & get colour from the DNG. Sepia from the JPG.
I can only conclude there is a Sepia in the DNG, but its hideing.

Not to sure what I learnt tonight, but I did learn something.

Have no idea. Maybe RAW is not affected by colour/WB/etc settings?

Anyway, I can't choose one, I like both photos very much.

Phil, the first, coloured version has got brilliant and unexpectedly smooth colours. No disturbing noise is visible. I like it much.
The sepia version seems to be too bright in light tones for my taste.

Peter your right. I pumped it up a little to bright to bring the shadows out  I was going to use the flash but didnt because it would of blowen out the forground railing.

I like the sepia version Tim. The color one seems to be a bit too green for me?

As for sepia and DNG, I don't think there is Sepia tone stored in DNG. Maybe there is a flag in EXIF about using Sepia in Jpeg. But it's purely informational flag. It's not read and used in any RAW editor I know.

The first one is closer to what I could expect to see colour wise, but still off the mark, the second one is totally surreal.
I actually like both for the arts sake, great lines and interesting lighting. - I'm guessing Glenelg?, although I dont recall seeing the bridge structure

I'd print them both and put them side by side in a frame for something different.
I'm sure guests would discuss for hours which one they liked!

Phil,

Great photo's, I very much like the sepia tone, spot on!

I would also like to produce sepia images from DNG, please let me know if you manage to discover the "secret"

David

I much prefer the colour one. I like the even exposure everywhere, and I even like the green effect from some of the lighting!
