Hi
My name is Chris and have had an interest in photography for approximately 15 years. I have previously used a long list of varying cameras including Olympus OM system slrs (Mainly OM1), Minolta AF Dynax slr's, Bronica S2A medium format system and a fun and enjoyable Lubitel 166u TLR. About 4 years ago I invested in a Voigtlander Bessa L with a 15mm Heliar. Having enjoyed shooting with this small system in mainly black and white (Rollei retro 400s film) earlier this year I decided to finally make the leap to a digital camera. Cost has always been a priority with my shooting (hence the list of old cameras!) so when I found the Ricoh GRD 1 for £150 it fitted with my budget. I had always admired the camera since launch, and now it was available at such a good price it seemed perfect. Having read reviews of its "in camera" black and white capabilities my mind was fully made up. Having now had a holiday shooting with the GRD I feel it is a superb investment and look forward to more trips with camera in hand.
My main photography interests are:
- street and impromptu phtography
- capturing the world from a different angle
- macro and microscopic photography
My one aim in photography is to capture the world with the emotion and feeling that the early magnum photographers such as HCB and Robert Capa managed and to enjoy the whole process of capturing the image.
