GR III might be the best street camera ever!

maybe it's still the honeymoon phase, but I've been getting way more keepers for street with this little camera than I ever did with my DSLR. I shoot raw, but my jpgs are B+W, just to check on screen. I could just stay with the jpgs, they are that good out of the camera. plus seeing a B+W look that good on the LCD makes you want to shoot more and longer.

apart from upper darkened side, it is beautiful catch. What is the story of these men? Thanks for sharing

I'm with you on that one, I have a gx200 but I saw a grIII in a shop window and really wanted it! I use my zoom a lot though so I better stay with my 200 :) love this shot too, great lighting and composition

I darkened the top in post, dodged the top and bottom to highlight the men. they were sitting in direct late day sun and the background was competing with the men for focus.

They were out of work and asking for money on the side of the street. Not sure what line of work they were in, I spoke with the man in the center and he was/is a carpenter. I normally don't shoot the homeless or poor unless they stop me, he stopped me and I gave him some change, I couldn't pass up the perfect pose they were in.

This could be a catagory of "street portrait". Its a very gritty earthy image to me, it engages and helps me feel how these guys are struggleing. I think your GRD III has more than provided a file for you and your PP has excelled at producing the mood of the image. Well done - an excellent GRD style image IMHO.
