GF-2 Flash overexposure

Hi

I just got the GF-2 flash to use with my GR IV Monochrome and everything other than manual exposure is grossly overexposed. Anyone else experiencing this?

I turn the flash on and the flash symbol appears. In Av, I choose my aperature, the camera sets the exposure at 1/30th, and then jacks up the ISO so that the flash over-exposes the image. Same in P mode.

It seems like the camera is not adjusting the ISO bearing in mind the flash will be firing. Is this a known bug? Has anyone got a GF-2 working with a GR IV Monochrome?

The only way I can get this to work is to limit exposure to no slower than 1/30th, choose my aperture and set the ISO manually: Effectively setting the EV manually. This totally sucks and is not how it is supposed to work. Has anyone got a GF-2 working in Auto-anything with a GR IV Monochrome?

Thanks
