Christian, I particularly like ##3 and 6 and am curious about the #8 - what are the "ladders" hanging from that tree good for?

Peter

Peter, thanks for reply. The "Ladders Tree" was one of several Land Art installations in the Park of Chateau Chaumont sur Loire.

Hi Christian,
never having been to the Loire (though tasted the wine before the kids were born, when I still had that stuff called "spare money" in my pocket), these images really make we want to go!
#1 is a good detail: how to artistically prevented unwanted people from sneaking in...
#6 is a very attractive shot of French village life...a real cliché, but nevertheless excellent!
#7 reminds me of how pretty castles can be: in Scotland ours tended to be designed more with function on mind, though not always.
Thank you for sharing!
Andy

Hi Andy, thanks for watching and for the nice comments. Specially beautiful we found the beginning of our journey: Briare and its canal bridge over the Loire, where we stayed long. Here the 'Emaux de Briare' are still made. The country house of the inventor and former factory owner is now a hotel and the beautiful mosaics are all preserved. Somewhat apart is the Château La Bussiere with a really fantastic jardin potager, a fruit, vegetable and flower garden. Then the great castles with the crowds sometimes seem a little disappointing despite the fantastic architecture. But it's also fun to look at the visitors, for example in the last photo. Just one of many, multitasking ;)
All the best,
Christian
