For just a moment there I thought I was going to see 'GXR P10' in the exif data......but it was not to be....bit premature I think.......as my partner would say!!
BTW Rog nice image ;)

Thanks Marcus, and tell the wife I'll be a fellow 'hands on' GXR P10 owner tomorrow or Saturday morning all being well.

Can't wait! :)

Now about the colour performance on the S10 24-72 module. Are there any side by side comparisons with the GX200 I can look at? The S10 jpg does look a bit noisy and washed out on the dpreview comparison with the P10 though there doesn't seem to be much in it with the RAW output until ISO 1600. Apparently there's some sort of 'vivid' option?

By the way, I also used the dpreview comparison to put the Nikon J1/V1 alongside the A12 50mm module, and I have to say it looks pretty good. That sensor with IS would make a really good 'GX300' module...

Hi again Rog. I was out today so I took along both the GX200 and GXR S10. I'm not sure if this comparison will help you much but thought I'd post it anyway.....I set both cameras to auto everything which in hindsight was not the best way to go, next time I'll maybe go for aperture priority as I noticed the GXR did it's own thing a little differently to the GX ....it shortened the shutter speed a bit in the first one, and in the last set the GXR altered the bias, F-stop and speed again also. So there is slight differences there, but this being more a colour comparison it shouldn't matter much. I'll let you and others judge for yourselves which images you prefer....I didn't have much time and this is certainly not by any means(!) comprehensive. The GX's colours are definitely closer to what my eye saw BTW.....ignore the times as well as the GX is set for daylight saving....

Marcus, many thanks for finding the time to do this for me.
I'd say the GXR is doing fine with the S10. It is a bit more conservative in preventing highlight blowout than the GX200. The second set shows the superior metering and auto mode of the GXR in my opinion. The foreground is almost the same for colour and contrast, but the GXR has managed to preserve the texture and contrast in the cloudscape better.

Overall the GX200 colours are slightly warmer, but the GXR S10 colour is acceptable and the exposure control in auto mode is better. Would you agree?

Great car, what is it?

Yes. Definitely agree with all you mentioned.....
Not sure about the car....to be honest I didn't have the time to check it out.

The S10 comparison with the P10 on dpreview shows the benefit of the S10's bigger sensor in the better high ISO performance beyond 800. What is the real world comparison like between your S10 and your missus' P10 when you shoot in the same low light conditions at the same focal length?

I'm trying to weigh up whether I need the S10 in addition to the P10 when I'm backpacking, and every ounce and cubic inch counts. Sorry if that seems a bit anal, but I've had to be ruthless with kit weight since a hit and run driver broke my back for me in 2005. The S10 module weighs more than my stove, pan and cutlery combined!
