first PX fail - audio recording doesn't work?

Just tried to record a short video, and realized that sound was not being recorded (or played back?). I know that there is volume control in playback, but it was on maximum. My finger was not covering the mic. Am I missing something? Anyone encounter a problem like this?

I confess to having tried video recording on the GR Digital II, III and IV. Audio worked in all cameras. IQ was... less than desired, but the viewers were not concerned on bit.
Dont have a PX to test sorry!
