Faulty screen

Taff

New Member
I bought my GXR at the end of may, and has given me many hours of pleasure and the quality of shots can be superb.
However after a short amount of time the screen began getting some very strange SPOTS on it, and it seemed recently
every time I looked at it there were more, these were not very visible with the screen on in bright parts of the image but
were very noticeable when off or in dark parts of the image.
Obviously I took it to were I purchased and showed them hoping they would play fair, the camera went straight to the
tech after the sales fellow looked at it and they agreed it was an anomaly and have sent it for replacement :)
Has anyone else experienced this?
I look forward to its return

Hi Taff,

I'm sorry to hear about your problem! Does it appeared like shown here?...

GRD shares more or less the same screen as GXR or CX so I wouldn't be surprised if they all share the same problem?

The best thing you can do for your camera is to buy transparent plastic LCD shield. It costs around 20USD including shipping and despite some problems with viewing angles in bright light (due to reflections), it's great LCD protection. I have it on all GXR and all GX/GRD cameras. After the years of use, all covers collected number of scratches and dents. So I can clearly see how many times the shield saved the GRD/GX screen from damage.

Thanks Odklizec, i will get a protection screen thingy when it returns.
I looked at the other thread and yea it is exactly the same, they said it must be a coating issue but Im glad to see the problem was
resolved under warranty :)
