Faulty battery?

I am new here, having just got a 9++ used GR the other day.

I got a ricoh charger and two ricoh batteries with the kit, which was quite fortunate, given the price of the batteries.

I have not done very much shooting, perhaps no more than about 30 shots, but have had the camera on a lot while i was messing with the menu and learning the camera.

When the battery is flat, i put it into the charger, and after about 40-60 min, it is fully charged when it is placed into the camera, but then does not seem to last very long.

Is there a problem with the batteries, because a full charge should take about 2 hours?

I think it depends on how you use the battery, are you using it continous (just flat out use), or are you turing it off between shots? I think i read somewhere that 30-40 shots is about right if you just have it on all the time. Another member please clarrify if this is wrong but i generally squeeze more than 30 shots by turning it off between shots.
