Eye-fi (Selected Downloads)

Hi All,

Hope you've had a happy and relaxing Christmas.

Just wondering if anyone is experiencing problems with selected downloads on their GR?

My iPhone and the GR see each and connect, but Transfer of files does occur.

It has worked successfully in the past, but very consistently.

I am going to Vietnam in a week and would like to be able to upload shots randomly to send to others and this forum.

Any help appreciated.

The only suggestion I have is can you tell the iPhone to "forget" the GR and then re-establish the connection.

Have you had any firmware updates to the iPhone?
I found sometimes this breaks things that were working perfectly before.

Hi Thelps,

Apologies for my slow reply. Christmas and New Year intervened. Thanks for your thoughts - I did find a setting in the iPhone app that was set incorrectly and that seems to have fixed that problem.

Re: Eye-fi (Selected Downloads)

Good for you... I just purchased an Eye-Fi Mobi 32G SD Card for my GR to be paired to a Samsung Galaxy S4. Unfortunately, they can hardly see each other and when they do, download and transfer of JPEG images to the S4 is inconsistent and unpredictable.

anyone else tried the Eye-Fi Mobi on a GR paired to an Android phone?

Slightly OT but related! I have thought of the Eye-Fi cards to link up with my Android Galaxy Note 2. I haven't made the leap there yet but was wondering whether many people were aware that with on OTG (On the go) usb cable which plugs into the phone and gives a standard female usb socket the other end you can plug the GR directly into the phone and it can then see the sd card. I realise this isn't as sexy as wifi and you can't do that sort of tethered instant viewing of pics but it does make it possible to view and send pictures in the field with minimal extra gear.
