Dynamic Range setting GXR P10??

I can't seem to find the Dynamic Rage setting in the shooting menu. I get duplicates of every photo but each with a slightly different setting. I assume its taking the 2 pics but not combining them, leaving me with both pictures. Anybody know if this is normal and if not, how can I change the DR settings?

I found this link on the Ricoh site -http://www.ricoh.com/r_dc/support/faq/bp/docs10/EDXR03020.html- but still can't find the menu and the manual doesn't mention it either.

Thx

The Dynamic Range mode (and its settings) is only available in the Scene mode! Just turn the mode dial to Scene and you should be able to access and use the DR mode. Hope this helps?

I see that this mode is not available with the A12 50mm. Does anyone know why? This is the cause of much of my confusion

The DR mode is not available with either A12 module. It is available on the P10. Just a guess that they have taken the software from the CX series for the small sensor lens.

I think there are 2 reasons.

1. The A12 has a bigger dynamic range by itself (RAW processing will be able to bring back highlights and shadows quite a bit more than with the smaller sensors).
2. The P10 has a fast Back-illuminated CMOS sensor. This one allows for very fast reads thus a highy frame-rate (also what Casio uses in their highspeed cams). DR mode needs that in order to make handheld multiple shots line-up as good as possible.
