Very, very nice Chris.
Love the first one which gives such a wonderful feel of climate, scale and a 'flavour' of the land...the detail with the seeds is also super!
But they are all good... ;)

The first one is most appealing also to me, Chris. A nice combination of a foreground detail with an interesting background.

Nice work Chris, these are so lush & clear.
Did you spend much time processing with the image in SP ?

Really good set of photos Chris. Nice to see the landscape as well as the flowers/seeds. I had never seen Protea seeds before, very interesting
Peter

Thanks guys for very encouraging comments ;) . SSC have their limitations but for me it was a good place to start. I am looking forward now to moving on; just waiting for more development with macro 4/3 and a new body for GXR. With latest Ricoh/Pentax merger something amazing could be around the corner  .

Phil, to answer your question: Yes I spend quite some time with SP Pro on each photo. Most of this photography is in harsh light conditions and RAW was always the way to go. I am currently trying to develop skills with " curves" option as this seems to be at the heart of the software.

Thanks Chris for getting back to me on this. I don't shoot in RAW just because I don't have the time process each image.
I would like too, just can't spend 10 to 20 minutes per image.
I like what you have done here .
SP is nice software to enrich the RAW file for its full potential. Sunny, dull what ever. It is good software.
I'm sure once over the learning curve its second nature.
I have noticed a marked difference between SP & PS. I found SP straight forward & useable. Or less time consuming.
And it looked lush.
Just been back to look at your 'Leonotis Leonorus' image. Red on silver with hint of green. :)

Fantastic pictures! My favourites are the first, third and fourth pictures :D , but especially the first picture. Great stuff ;)

Thanks Athena. I am glad you enjoyed them. Some of SA scenery is very similar to Australia; e.g. we have large forests of Australian Blue Gum originally planted for mine props but now with multiple uses.

Thanks Pavel. Any improvement is largely due to info I have picked up over the past two years from yourself and the Ricoh forum - I am a very keen " distance pupil". :)

I didn't know that, very interesting. Thanks for that information. I would have thought that it was dangerous to introduce a foreign species (plant or animal) into another country, but obviously it worked out well in this situation.
