As far as I know, mine has a USB-2.
But I cannot catch the relation with the card ?
The size of the card is limited by the firmware of the camera.
It is probably mentionned in the user manual the maximum card to be employed.

USB 2 has a ceiling of 30MB/s so buying faster cards - while potentially helping camera write speeds - will not speed up file tranfer via USB because of this ceiling.

You can always take the card out and put it in an external reader to transfer the images. USB3 SD card readers can be bought on fleabay for $10 or so.
