That's a great shot...I like the foot prints - half covered - that cross the picture making it feel that someone had been there but not recently.

Its a simple image components wise, but it works very well.
I like it. the cloudscape adds a lot of impact!
 
Much interest in both the sky (the backlit clouds are well exposed) and the land (the ripples and footprints are a great addition). Simple composition combining them both fifty-fifty separated additionally by a narrow contrasty strip of "green". Perfect work, Jos.

A great, deceptively simple shot. I agree: damn the over-used rule of thirds. The thin dune line serves as perfect datum, dividing dune and sky. The best part , to me, is the sand pattern in the foreground, twisting back and away to the distance.

Btw, I love this island and the next one over, Ameland. Ancestors on my father's side are from just across the little tidal inlet in Fryslan.
