Thank you Peter . The picture is actually of the bark of the iconic Australian scribbly gum tree (a type of eucalyptus tree) in the bush just south of Sydney. I never thought of it as an abstract, but now that you mentioned it, I can't see why I didn't! I guess I just saw it as the bark that it actually is . You have helped me to see it differently - thank you .
