Corner Fix for WA lenses

In my "research" on WA M-mount lenses I came across some articles on the Voigtlander 12mm and 15mm lenses in which it was noted that, on the Leica M 8.2 and M 9, there was noticeable vignetting and color fringing (cyan/magenta in the corners). One writer said he used a free download called "CornerFix" to correct this problem. It may just be the ticket for those of us itching to use non-Leica WA's which might be prone to the problems. Here are two links to CornerFix. The first shows how it works. The second is the free download. Ken

Cornerfix was invented by a very capable and enthusiastic programmer who solved the Leica-problems with the above mentioned 'red corners' and other strange behavior of digital Leicas when using wide and super wide angles. Leica was very astonished when these phenomena arrived and, as usual, too slow to help.....

In case of Ricoh they made their homework in advance and offer this in-camera-correction to overcome the disadvantages from the very narrow endlens to sensor distance.
Let's see how it works..... ;)

The effect has nothing to do with lenses from third party or generic ones. _When the new 3.8 18mm hit the market, the fora got bad feedback and shortly after launch, a lot of lenses were sold due to frustrations about this special effect.

>dorfinator. Thanks, I've downloaded Google Chrome & will give it a try if needed.

>silverbullet. The in-camera correction sounds great! Thanks!

Good tip! It would be interesting to see how the GXR in-camera corner fix compares with this CornerFix tool ;)
