This is the steel piece of sculpture in Paternoster Square jus' round the corner from St. Pauls. This was the last shot of the day for me, and I can safely say that I never got another section 44, yeehaa!!

Excellent graphic, good choice to go B/W too. I like it!

you could put this in the "Guess What It Is?" section on this forum

Thanks guys, its nice to hear from you.

Marky, I got my first section 44 while shootin' the 'gherkin' three blocks away. Then when I got round to the buildin' proper there were people everywhere takin' pictures and not a policeman in sight. You wouldn't believe the nonsense answers they were givin' me to my 'Q's, it was unbelievable!
Useless regulation, and useless people puttin' it about, in my view.

I'm not very good neither in abstract nor 1:1 photos ;) But I like this one, because of its composition, distribution of individual pieces and this all works great in B&W. Great shades! Well done!

Pavel, I find abstract shots a breeze, but its people shots that i'm useless with!I'm really tryin' to get to grips with this area of photography like lookin' at lots of pictures and such, but the GX200 can be a little bit of a hindrance to me with its slow focusin'.

Its one of the reasons why i'm thinkin' of investin' in a Canon G10!

Paul, If I may suggest you something, try the manual focus. I'm doing all (most of) my photos just with manual focus and most of them are fine. The thing is, that you don't need to refocus all the time. This is the advantage of small sensors with their huge DoF. All you need is to switch between 1m, 3m or Infinity focus distance. But usually, for street/indoor shots, you need just one focus distance. Just give it a try. It requires some experience, but after some time, you will most probably don't use AF anymore. Well, yes, you will...but only if you are doing macro ;)

Pavel, you know this might be my savin' grace with this camera, i'll give it a try definately. I'll give the 'snap' option a go too.

Thanks Pavel.

dude!....I use snap all the time for PPl shots on the street....set the lens to 24mm....F4.1 and away you go....... or if I'm doing shots not of the candid variety then i tend to shoot at 50mm or so and set AV to 1 above the minimum.......now go n shoot some uniforms eh?
