cats and lenses

Hello, I don`t travel for time being, I`m bit tired of the city I live in, picturetaking speaking. Sometime I`m not sure what makes a post interesting. Maybe the universal themes, kids, cats and lens testing? Well, I´ll have a go merging the two last ones. This cat is quite a challenge to get in focus, mind you. Not a pixel peeping it is, just a kind of photographic feel expressed by different glass. Of course all cat picts are taken at full aperture on very firm oldie goodie of tripod Manfrotto 0055B. A cat's mystique is so dominant for me, that I admit it doesn't make any difference for me what lenses are used. What was it looking at so intently for four minutes? Beautiful one...
Nice to see your color shots, the last one has your compositional "look" to it. Please don't tell me that she is begging for money...

Thank you quester. The cat is pondering how to get away. When on the floor he+s virtually impossible to shoot as upon seeing me with camera, runs to me.
Ricoh AF, should I use 50macro, is not for moving targets. The cat, which is by the way my sons who`s on short vacations, is pretty old, some 15 years.
So put it on the round table, where he sat thinking how to jump down. Was he young, he would do it immediately.
Still, he was moving it`s head so these seemingly lasting looks lasted for a second or two. As to lenses, well I don`t care much what I shoot with either.
Of course, having a choice, I prefer old leicas due to compactness. Still, it`s surprising that Helios 44-2 58/2 that can be had for small change performs that well.
Finally, the lady is not begging, she`s a street performer, a living statue. You drop a coin and she comes to life, smiling and greeting you with flowers. Stanislaw

I enjoyed this post too - thank you and have a happy remaining Easter - mine has been spent with a 42 ton crane lifting boats - tides don't recognize holidays or holy days.
