I made a small walk in the forest nearby today and took some shots.....
All are taken with M-Module and Leica lens 50 mm/2.8 collapsible (my favorite lens at the moment).

Cheers,
JONIE

Hi Jochen,

I did not expect you to own a GXR M-mount module as well! Great news and also great shots!
And you also answered with your post a question that I had these days: Is the collapsible 2/50 lens usable with the GXR M-mount module? I saw a photo where it protruded a lot to the back in collapsed state. As I wanted to be safe and sure, I missed an auction this evening for such a lens in good condition (no offers, 425 EUR)...

Best regards, Gerd

Beautiful pictures, Jonie. Colors are incredible and the second one is fantastic. If you don't mind I will use it as background on my iPad... :D

Hi Jochen,

I have to make my question more precise: There seems to be an Elmar 2.8/50 and a Summicron 2/50 which are both collapsible. Yours seems to be the Elmar, right?

Best regards, Gerd

Sorry Jochen and all others,
I just decided to go for a Zeiss Sonnar 1,5/50 -- despite some sharpness issues and the steep price tag. I don't know why, perhaps because of a recommendation that I got, perhaps, because I wanted to have something special... Anyway, the order is on its way...
Best regards, Gerd

@ Genster: many thanks !

@ Gab: many thanks for the mail. Of course, please feel free to use it for background on ipad...;-)

@ Gerd: as well thank you for your note. Yes, I use the Elmar 2.8/50 mm collapsible, that is really great in my opinion. Already with open lens at 2.8 the image quality is phantastic. And when collapsed the size of camera is quite small, esp for a 75 mm-lens, that it is at the end due to crop of 1.5 . But let me congratulate for the Zeiss Sonnar 50/1.5 !! That is a great lens as well , esp because of 1.5.

Cheers,
Jochen

Hallo Jochen,
Would it be possible to post a photo of the GXR with the collapsible Elmar -- that would interest ma a lot.
Thanks, Gerd

Hello Gerd,

Voila`, here they are. As far as I know Leica does not produce that lens anymore since 2008. (a big mistake in my eyes) . It is quite heavy, since full of metal.

Best Regards,
Jochen

@nicolasGOD
many thanks for your very interesting post. Although the 35 f3,5 perar triplet seems not be very cheap it is a small-sized alternative. When I visited the Ricoh guys on Photokina, Cologne last year I asked them to develop a Module for GXR that includes a lens that is similar to the Minox 35 lenses (collapsible/ no autofocus/ very small & thin) . The 35 f3,5 perar triplet seems to be that !

Could you please send some pictures to this forum taken with the 35 f3,5 perar triplet as a recommendation to buy that lens ? That would be great.

Thanks and regards,
Jochen

Hi,

I've been away for a while. Here are some shots done with the Perar. I'll put the perar on the GXR M module tonight to show you the size it is given.

Thank you for posting these pictures of Perar 35 mm, nicolasGOD.
I am quite interested in that lens, since it is so small sized, but would like to see before, how the image quality really is.
Did you compare the lens quality of the Perar against the quality of the A 12/ 50mm ?
What is about the colors of pictures through that lens ? Are they reasonable ?

I would be thankful to hear more about your experience with the Perar.

Thanks a lot and best wishes
JONIE

Here are some shots with lenses mounted on the M Module. (sorry for the quality, but was too lazy to take my camera, so I shooted it with my LG Optimus 3D)

For the colour shots with the Perar, it is nice, never had any issues with it, it is crispy and the contrast is nice, will try to shoot this week end with it mounted on the GXR and will post them later.

@nicolasGOD ,
Thanks a lot for the pictures of the Perar !
Very, very small size of that combination with M Module.
Is it easy to focus ? How to set the aperture -ring ? Are there "steps" between the different aperture settings, or is the turning of aperture ring step-less ?

I am anxious the see some color-pictures taken with the Perar !

Thanks and regards,
JONIE
