cripes......I well remember "Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict"

Very cool  . I grew up surrounded by such music as Pink Floyd, and a few years back, 'discovered' this band again. They are one of my favourites, but I must admit, I do favour "Dark Side of the Moon", "Wish You Were Here" and "The Wall" over their other albums. The live album "Pulse" is also one of my favourites. Question - why was the bull tied up? Looks a bit strange, when there's a whole paddock for it to roam in...

I'd add several more to Athena's list. The little known film soundtrack album 'Obscured by Clouds', the dark and brooding 'Animals', and the varied styles of 'Meddle'.

I've just received UK reissue (1987) of this album on CD. One of my favourites too, despite it has no well known hits.

I believe that paddock is used for something different, and the place where I met him was an open area. I think his owner wouldn't be happy to know that his bull is somewhere beyond the horizon (...of the place we lived when we were young) :D :

You all showed a great knowledge of Pink Floyd stuff, I'm pleased. ;) Thank you!

I was a big Meddle fan, particularly the long single track on side 2. A buddy of mine always thought the whale like songs on that track was Pterodactyls squawking as they few above.

Athena, the bull is on a lock because the last time he was roaming around... Some crazy musicians hired him for an album cover. He made millions of pounds. When the economy tanked, he lost everything and his owner locked him up so he wouldn't get in trouble.

Don't mind me, I'm having a Momentary Lapse of Reason.

Echoes is simply a Masterpiece.

True, but I enjoy also the subtle brit humour of the melodic 'St Tropez' and the acoustic blues harmonies of 'Seamus'.

You can hear Gilmour's major influence on this album when you compare it to his first solo album (Also well worth obtaining).

Of course I have David Gilmour album too. Childhood's end is the good proof of your words about influence in both music and lyrics.

Super image and similarity that has also built a super talking point  ... so many fans here - that's no bad thing :D

athena :) .... amongst other things could be that he's being fed by hand or perhaps not been given the "official" ear tag number yet :? - not being given a number would be "a great day for freedom" ;)

Kort

:)
