Second one works better for me. I like the work with DoF, which is very good considering the size of used sensor ;) I would only reduce the color noise, which seems to be noticeable in the background.

I agree with Pavel. The second is actually a very interesting shot...must be the in-out-in focus combined with what looks like writing on the wall in the background and the technical details of the bolts and fixing holes. It certainly keeps the eye and mind wandering for a good few moments! :)

Definitely the second one. I agree with guys on this. Be that my photo, I would even cut it from top (to get rid of the bright area in the top left corner) and also slightly from right.

sorry I did not retur to this post, not kind from me.
- I double checked right now, color noise reduction in LR2 was at 100% so I could not reduce it more.
- I never happen to choose the right photo, 3-0, you are the experts.
- I just played a bit with cutting upper corner both right and left, I am not sure, a lot of "air" gets lost (I do not know how to explain it).

Finally the designer only worked with a screw profile in a uninteresting way. I learned from your comments by far a lot more...
many thanks all of you!
