Panasonic DMC-FZ30 processed with Dxo Optics Pro 6.x with DMC-FZ30 JPG lens correction Module.
The Leica lens-system on the FZ30 is so good that it probably does not need much in the way of corrections. The fact that DxO put the time into creating a module for the DMC-FZ30 (perhaps) speaks to their own love of the camera. I (foolishly) gave mine away when I bought a DMC-FZ50, only to (like Odklizec) find that the Venus Engine III as implemented in the FZ50 does a rather disappointing job of creating in-camera JPGs to say the least! I use my FZ50 only in RAW mode as a result, thus introducing me to the complicated, tedious, but potentially rewarding world of "raw" image-file post-processing, ... Silkypix, RAWtherappe, Dxo Optics Pro, etc.
Gone are the days of "bridge" (or "pro-sumer") cameras with larger high-quality lens-systems having manual Focus and Zoom ring controls. Never wanting to futz with and haul around a DSLR and entourage of expensive add-on lenses, etc., the Panasonic FZ30/50 stand out as treasures of time. It seems like (in consumer markets driven by MegaPixel wars, over-minaturization fetishes, and silly auto-everything modes that can never replace the human mind and hands, all too often, the offerings just get worse over time ... )
Shot using mono-pod, Optical Image Stabilization, and a little luck ...
