it's the rangefinder Zeiss Ikon, the poor man's Leica M7......
Together with my Bessa R4A (wide angle finder) they have all exposure controls at the same place and in the same layout except film rewinding.
For me as a glass wearer the ZI has an amazing viewfinder. Sold my black Leica MP.....no regrets.......
Cheers
Bernd
I sold my silver MP, I liked it but as much as I try, I could never quite operate it fast enough. Also for the size, price and weight it was not quite worth the IQ IMHO. A nice camera for sure but too much $ value tied up in one. An interesting point is that even though I had the camera a couple of years, I sold it and the 50mm cron for as much as I paid for it - it cost me nothing to own it over that time.
In Düsseldorf/Germany my dealer has two MP in silver. One naked and one equipped with a silver 50mm Summicron, very sexy both. The speed was not the problem. I never got this special 'feeling' to own a Leica....but thanks to the M6, M7 and finally the MP my restart of my B/W photography made a lot of fun. The first M6 I bought just for training rangefinder photography in 2006 to see whether a M8 would be convienient for me. The rangefinder works well but the M8 in my eyes is a small lemon......
Here one of my very rarely silver printed old pics of 1972 together with the 'Black Beauty', the MP with a Black Paint Summilux:
