A Ricoh fan wannabe

Hi RicohForum!

This is my first post and I am from Indonesia and I am a camera n00b .
I am about to buy a Ricoh GXR for my second digital camera because I want a small camera with sharp lens (the first one was a Canon G12).
Anyway, I am going to Tokyo for vacation real soon now and of course to buy Ricoh GXR + 2 camera GR units (I am still undecided whether to take the new A16 or the older A12 GR lenses). Everyone must wonder why I would buy Ricoh in Tokyo and not in my home country. They don't sell Ricoh here . But I have doubts about buying GXR in Japan because it would not be FW-upgradeable in this post: http://www.ricohforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=8168&start=10#p44119

Could someone please enlight me about the issue? Can I still upgrade my FW to 1.5 or newer FWs?

Hi chocolait and welcome to the board!

As for your question, yes, I'm sure you can still upgrade the GXR body/lens bought in Japan. The only problem is that Japanese cameras usually have only two optional languages enabled - Japanese and English. Hope this helps?
