Chris, what's the "string" lying under the fruit/vegetable? Some kind of dried/fried snake or it's just a part of the fruit/vegetable?

Pavel, real snake - washed up dead from storm. Photo supposed to be political statement - very common use for photography in this part of the world, particularily under previous v. oppressive regime. Hundreds of thousands of Zimbabweans now starving, so any "protean" now acceptable as food.
