Winter walk in Sepia

lensman

Out for a walk today in cold & snowy Staffordshire, grey skies and occasional snow flurries so I decided on sepia landscapes as a theme. All shots straight out of my CX1, with slight tweaking for contrast & sharpness.

Absolutely tremendous; conjures up many memories. The open fields give a great sense of space in a country that is highly cultivated. - Thanks for posting ;) .

A walk down memory lane! I love the first shot, it reminds me of where I use to live. maybe burn the sky in a bit top right? :) thanks for posting

I love the boat one too, that canal is getting mighty narrow! Where was that taken?

Also, I have a CX1, and haven't noticed an Aperture Priority mode. Is there a special scene mode I'm missing?

David, great set. The tonality fits it well. I particularly like the #3 poles shot.

Love the colour and the light! And I was very surprised because the two first remind me the landscape near my place!

BTW, thanks for the visit, very apprecciated ;-)

Thanks for viewing & kind words of encouragement, much appreciated.

Nick, good suggestion, I'll give it a try.

Sandy, the canal is the Staffs & Worcester, dug by hand in the late 1700's and has 7ft "narrow" locks. It was one of the early "contour" canals which follow the most level course rather than have locks to ascend/decend.

You are correct, the CX1 does not have an apperture priority mode, so the exif data is a bit of a puzzle. I was using the MY2 setting, in which I select the maximum depth of field mode, perhaps this has caused the data to read incorrectly?
