What is this red-white thingy on the tree?

Hi Proto,
an interesting find! At first I thought 'classic red UFO with a white carp hanging on to the top of it'. But of course, being 26th December, it must be Santa's hat that just hooked on there as he sled homeward... ;)

You are right, Andy, it's the hat of nicolas, but do you really mean he can fly? ;)
How did this hat get on the tree?
Here the original place of the hats, I think, sorry for the bad foto.

Well, it SEEMS like flying must be the answer...but maybe it was simply an elf playing tricks...
Thanks for showing!

If you look closer to the first foto you can remark who transported the cap on the tree.
First, I remarked it on the ground in the middle of the way.

So everybody knew, who transported the cap on the tree! ;)
First the animal disappeared, but when I saw from a certain distance, it sat on a fourche, I went back and took some fotos. The squirrel didn't move all the time, surely he didn't know how visible he was with these colors.
Normally we wouldn't discover him in this pose, that's funny about this foto.
I was a bit worried, because I thought, the cap was a sac and the animal coudn't get out of it. So I let him alone and after returning half an hour later, I found the cap under the tree, empty, only with little holes in it.

Hi (again) proto!
No, I did not think of 'normal' causes, just supernatural ones! Amazing...I wonder why he/she was interested in a Santa hat?

Thanks for your comments, Andy¨ :)
Sorry, my pictures are so real! ;) (The animal was about 10m high)

The caps surely belonged to children and one forgot a nut in it, isn't it?
