Well, more than missing, I would say that there is something unnecessary, superfluous or left over from another body that are the DOF marks, with obviously no sense in a fly by wire focusing lens.

Yes, essentially this is what I was looking for. In my OM days I often used to set hyperfocal distance and then not worry about accurate focus. Particularly with wide angles.
But what is the point of aperture marks with no distance marks? Am I missing something? Maybe the marks for distance will appear on the finished product.
