Hi Campbell,

It may be worth looking at new UK stock as the discounts are massive and often undercut 2nd hand eBay sales. Stock comes and goes (more going than coming at present) but you could consider going to Clifton Cameras for the for the GXR S10 kit @ £199 to buy a body (hard to find separate at present) then SRS Microsystems who have at A12 50 for £199 and the A12 M for £299.

The GXR is a great little camera. It's obviously a generation older than the GR and doesn't have some of the 'tricks' but the lenses are great and the manual focus ring on the A12 28 & 50 is nice to use (even if fly-by-wire). The build quality is excellent...only weak areas are the battery clip and the pop-up flash clip. It is a great fit in the hand and more robust than the GRD/GR. Personally I don't like the VF-2 which adds a lot of bulk and it is easy to damage its hinge.

Ffordes have some GXR stuff at the moment and look to be the cheapest for a new A12M.
