Why not put a display/viewfinder (type tunnel) indicating A, S, ISO and parallax lines in a digital Ricoh GR similar to GR-1V?.
I think this is technically possible (see FUJI X-20) maintaining the current size of the GR. It would be great!

I also like this idea. We only need a few basic pieces of info.
I use the center focus, partial depress and recompose method a lot.

I'd like to see a center mark in the VF so I know where focus will be.
A symbol like [ ] or maybe [ + ] would be good. This even on the existing optical finder would be useful.

Everything is possible, even this tunnel vision, however it would make GR so much bigger. I`m perfectly satisfied with my tiny GV-2 and like old Leica shooters, I really don`t have time for fiddling with ISO, modes and the likes while looking though the finder. I just set the cam for shutter and speed, multi AF or manuall zone distance, see something, raise it to eye and here we go. What I really would love is a however tiny LCD bright sun type display on the top of GR where currently the flash is.
Even its small size ( practically it would be 18x24mm ) would be great help to keep the subject inside the frame when waist and low angle shooting. And as a topping on the cake, a litte button next to it, which when pressed would show instead of view, the actual ISO, distance, shutter and time! By the way I do wonder why stuffy Leica didn`t put my suggestion on top of their M bodies. Stanislaw

I also use the viewfinder GV-2 but this makes a little bump. I would sacrifice a bit the size of the LCD screen to make room for the viewer tunnel, for example, enough would be 2.8 inches. And it would be nice spot focus confirmation.

With the tunnel viewfinder the GR would be very elegant and practical.

I took would sacrifice for a tunnel. I'm not willing to plunk down $200 for the viewfinder (although I may BUILD my own: http://www.jay.fedka.com/index_files/Page358.htm) and I have to say I can't get fully comfortable with shooting just off the screen. sometimes I really do want to hold the camera up to my eye.

Not to mention there are some street shots that I would just feel less creepy about if I could raise my camera to my face to say, "YES! I acknowledge that I am taking a picture of you and you know it because my camera is to my face". Sometimes the screen makes it a bit sneaky feeling.
