I am about to believe that i won't be able to replace gx100 or grd2 i somehow sold. But anyway, I must shoot :) Got 2 hr break from missus and run to Asiyan in Bosphorus. It is a (kind of ) fun spot, crazy crowd, drinking raki/beer, swimming, fishing, sleeping, chatting. Sorry for crowded frames.

edit two more added from a shopping mall

Interesting start to a thread. If you don't mind...
I'm curious about how you compare the m43 stuff against the Ricoh's .
Thanks in advance,don

Hello Don,

ergonomics (body, menu, buttons), AF, overall feel ( that makes me go and shoot photos in the street ) of ricoh bodies I had ( gx100/grd2 ) are unrivalled. I tried e-p2, X100, pana bodies, nikon V1-J1, sony NEXs, samsung nx200, nx10 etc. Nada. Nothing matches. M43 has of course DR, high ISO advantages, but I am not even convinced about IQ in good light in pixel level ( if matters anyway ).

I like 16:9. This is a good example of the crop.
There is an exaggerated tension that is very appealing.

As your above post mentions...I also find other systems to fall short of the mark.
I have much experience with m43. I find it interesting but not stimulating. In fact I find it the opposite of stimulating. Having a bag full of lenses just creates a mind boggling situation. One has to make decisions that should be made before going out.

I like Ricoh for the sensitivity they show to the users.
IQ for images is just a very small part of photography, using a camera is far more important.
IQ for intelligence is not found in many cameras but yet Ricoh has used the letters this way first.

what you said is totally right ( at least for me ) and luckily price of my regret is not very high. I found a GRD 2 from Phoenix and hopefully he'll send it to İstanbul ( we'll see :D ). But I'll keep e-pm1 for some DOF control, some high iso shots and for wife ( she liked the look of 17mm shots, not very distorted, vibrant jpgs). these are from good old gx100 and GRD2

Whatever camera you use, your pics always have that special touch! Thank you! Great postings... :)

I like the first photo, I think you processed it with Photoscape.
Thanks for posting Istanbul street life.
I should work on Ankara streets

as long as you shoot like you did in Paris, outcome will be most charming. Did you see my comment to your thread? Some of them were really good. It seems that GXR M mount suited you just right.

Yes I read your nice comments.
If my wife lets me go out for weekend:) I may try in Ankara streets.
I am lucky to have M mount.
GXR M mount is such a system that can suit everybody easily.
