Dear forum users,
I finally found the time to write a few words. Though I read this site for quite a while now and even managed to register I have not been posting anything here yet. Well seems it’s time to change that ;-). My name is Daniel Weinfutner and i live in Germany (Seeshaupt).
Basically I started shooting pictures when I was 6 years old, when my father gave me a Konica T3 SLR with a 50mm/f1.7 back then on vacation in Italy. Since then there have been several periods where I abandoned photography and then rediscovered it. Since 4 years now things have changed. I have not been using digital since that time. In fact I only got three digital cameras, a early Olympus, a Leica C-Lux 2 (witch is a good looking Panasonic) and of course a recently purchased Ricoh GR Digital III. Although I love film you can go on reading as I am not religious about it and really appreciate the conveniences and possibilities of digital imaging.
I own the Ricoh GRD III for 2.5 month now and since that time I have been shooting about 2500 frames with it. What I can tell you so far is, that it has earned its permanent residence in my pocket ;-). What I loved about photography since the early days is the interaction with a sophisticated piece of engineering. Using it to create an image, a capture of a situation in an instant. I honestly thought this is something that got lost in the digitalization of photography. But cameras as the GRD III (or the Leica M9 maybe) proof me wrong. I attached some shots that I like, done with the GRD III . Hope you like them as well.
All the best, Daniel
