Three views, one window...

The last idea had, I thought, much potential, but I was being seriously rushed so I only had time for a single shot...
I guess the GRDIII would allow me to work much faster in such circumstances?

Lovely view Andy, I think some ways the GRD lets you work faster is perhaps the auto lens cap and the faster RAW write time.
I do think the auto lens cap saves a lot of fiddle. But of course the GX100/200 have the barndoors leaf cap.

Andy, #1 is my fave. I am not sure with the clipping though. In that regard the full window view in #2 works better. And clipped closer to the window frame I suspect it would work even better. :)

Peter

PS: Excuse me my previous familiar tone, Your Majesty. You have not mentioned you stay in Hofburg.

Andy I like that first photograph. If it wasn't for the taxi you would think it was 1889 with the horse & carriages. Also its colour tone I think suits it nicely.
The second one mybe bettera in 1:1 And the third was always going to have the Flash/Glass don't mix thing.
But we get to see inside looking out. Is that Art Deco furniture?
But what I realy like is that your inside & above the street. Is the room above the street? Does the street pass under the room? Or does the street turn to the right? Only Andy knows for sure. ;)

Thanks for the comments and feedback girl and guys!

Tim, it was indeed the RAW writing time I was thinking of...with the GX100 it really does interupt the flow with the 5-6 second writing time...and many a better (?) second shot has been missed whilst I curse the frozen screen... :|

Orol, I had similar thoughts on #1 regards the clip clop crop stuff...I decided on this because I liked the group of people to the right and also the leaf of the inner door which emphasised the 'inside-looking-out' feel...but it could well be that it does work beter with the closer snip...
BTW they even allow peasants into Hofburg these days...but the colour of my blood will remain a mystery to all..at least until the next time I cut myself! ;)

Phil, also wondered about the 1:1..great minds think alike? The MarkII may well receive the Royal Chop!
And yes, super chair! It could be 1950's though...could not swear to anything in the cool-seat department.
And yes yes, the road goes right below this room and into the intimate inner courtyards..oh to have more money to finish off my humble abode with its West Wing, the two Triumphal Arches, etc etc...

Andy,

Photo #2 does it for me, just as it is [no cropping].

David

BTW, enjoying the banter, makes a long working day end with a laugh.......keep up the good work :D

Andy, I like the first one because it's really like a view into the past. If you can live without zoom, maybe GRDIII, or even GRDII would suit you better? With both cameras you can take another shot while the first is still writing. And GRDIII will even allow you to take 5 consecutive RAW+JPEG shots. GX100, on the other hand, has better JPEG than GRDII. Hard decisions ;)

That was a major reason why I get the gx200 was the faster writing time in raw. I also like the first image, and agree about the timeless feel to it. great work :)

Man & I stupid, I've been waiting for the camera to stop blinking to take my next shot.
