I am not sure what these pair were doing, but the (Japanese looking) girl was taking an extensive series of photographs of the guy. He in turn was holding up a piece of cardboard, first displaying one side towards her, then then the other...

I guess it will forever remain a mystery what the purpose of the shoot could have been, but I took this shot just to remind myself of the event!

A mystery for sure.. She looks like she is either taking another photo without the man in the frame or checking an existing image on the screen. The paper that the man is holding looks like some kind of artwork, a painting or similar? :? I can only guess its a picture of the artists work at the location. Can't be sure why the paper was flipped over?? This has me baffled. :? :?

The remainder of my 'evidence'!

The girl was checking the image in my first picture IMOP.

Art work sounds a possibilty, perhaps the man being the artist? But double-sided...

I liked the image because the girl was always consealed behind her rather exotic umbrella, which adds an air of mystique... :)

The last picture "close up?" is my favorite. Even one of the statues seems to be be wondering what they are doing.

hahaha, LOL  The cherub is even trying to eavesdrop in their conversation.

In one photo the man is holding a silver (home made?) reflector to bounce light onto his lower face. In the other, when he is pointing it towards her, she may have been using the plain white side of the reflector to get a white balance or light-meter reading.

If I had only the above photographs to go on I would say that your assessment was spot on... :)
However, the card was being flicked quickly from one side to the other, so... :?
