Today had a walk with my family and some friends on the Monti Ernici, mountains that are not far from the place in which I leave. We visited the natural reserve called "Zompo Lo Schioppo" due to the presence of the highest fall (80 mt) of the Central Appennini, the chain of mountains that run over most of the length of Italy. Unfortunately, due to the dry season, this main fall was not present, but we enjoyed many other torrents and small falls that were along the way.
Just a curiosity, the name "Zompo Lo Shioppo" literally means "Jump the Bang" from the thunder sound that the water of the main fall make hitting the rocks at the base of the mountain.
All pictures taken with Nikon D200 and Nikon 12-24 f4. The pictures of the waterfalls are taken using tripod and ND filters. PP with Aperture 3.
