my first attempt at photographing the universe...

Absolutely stunning
It had to be a clear night. What was the location?

it is at Mauna Kea. I took this at the visitor center. After sunset, nobody (except for the scientist and rangers) is allowed up the mountain beyond the visitor center.

a total of 120s exposure if i remember correctly.

Fantastic milky way shot! The noise or noise reduction doesn't appear to be a problem here.
