Blow-in

My new GXR with A12 50 arrived on Saturday from Clifton Cameras (they are down to the last few so hurry if you want one for £349 delivered with case) and I can see that even though most of the menus are familiar from the GRD series, this is one different camera and I'm going to have to remember all sorts of stuff about DOF, aperture and hand held speeds that the GRD4 has allowed me to ignore. However, this is a journey that I'm looking forward to.

It's been a bit grey & damp so I've not a lot worth posting yet but I've attached a seasonal (for here) shot of some snow drops. Aah, smell the bokeh!

I'm staggered by the detail that the A12 50 picks up. There are a couple of GRD4 features that I miss. The first is the abilty to skip down or up whole pages in the menus using the zoom button - my thumb keeps trying to do this. The other one is the function button pairing. I suppose these could be added by a firmware change but I wonder if that level of support still exists for the GXR given the rush to clear shelves through massive discounts? Perhaps they are making way for a new GXR body?

Anyway, onward & upwards.

Richard

You got yourself a bargain Richard.
At that price I have even been tempted.
I say 12 megapixels is more than enough. Looking forward to more GXR shots from you .
I like the idea of that lens for its macro capability .
