I've been on this forum for over two years, and not really uploaded much of my stuff. Well it's about time I got more involved again. So in addition to commenting on other peoples' uploads, I thought I'd start showing some of my own.

Starting with some stuff from last year. About a year ago , I went to the Japanese Summer Festival in London 2011. These were my results.

Thanks for posting....These are some of the best squares I have seen. Most use the square as a crop but these images were meant to be square.....
I hope you get what I mean.....

great stuff, tickled all my funny bones. sharp, great tones and interesting characters.

They are great, there is a nice flow of images, made me feel I was there, with content to interest.
The guy with the spatula seems to be making Okonomiyaki 8-)

I notice you use shutter priority

Thanks all.

Don... As for going square; sometimes I like to produce a whole series in square, but I 'think square' when I am taking the shots. I shoot in RAW, so I dont use the 1:1 ricoh crop. Sometimes square works well, depends on the subjects maybe. I use landscape more for 'street scenes' and portrait for... portraits.

Thelps... Yes Okonomiyaki indeed, mmmmm :P . I do quite often shoot shutter priority in busy situations. I just want the shot down and sharp. I also use aperture priority on other days. Depends on light and scenario. I swap and change quite a bit. I always used A-mode with other cameras, especially when I want to control DoF; but with the GRD, I get big fat DoF even at f1.9. I'm no expert thoguh

Perfect set. Going square was a good choice saying the studies are neither regular street nor portraits but rather, say, street portraits. I hope you get the message. :) Thanks for posting.

Love them! :D
All else said already...
+1...Nice to see interesting 1:1s. I find it very difficult to think in 1:1 when I shoot...Congrats! ;)
