Shadows (GRD4)

My usual model, this time lying in a pool of early morning sunlight indoors. I was impressed with the way the GRD4 metered this shot (centre weighted). I've used positive film - my latest favorite image setting. The dark brown is very true to life.

I have found myself using the image bracket function Standard/bleach/positive

Very nice Richard. I gotta say.....I went thru many GRD3 files last nite and compared them to the GRD4.
I'll just say this, I no longer miss my 3.
The filters as above, are stunning.

Thanks for all the encouraging comments. I was a bit dubious at first about the filters/image settings but I'm beginning to really like them. I'm also starting to play with multi-exposure - quite hard to use I think but potentially very interesting. The GRD4 has enough settings to keep you busy for several years!

I always thought the III files good for colour, but it seems the IV are an improvement.

Thanks for the comments - it was one of those moments coming down the stairs - quick reverse to the study (which is half way up the stairs) to grab the GRD4 before Mollie decided her breakfast was more interesting than a patch of sunlight.

Don, I shoot JPEGS and with the GRD4 use the image settings for my processing. This image wasn't touched other than to reduce the size for posting. If I do any post processing I use PhotoScape (as recommended by someone on the site) as it has an easy UI. What is also great about the positive film and bleach bypass is that they are tuneable in camera (before image capture).

The interesting thing about this is it encourages you to get exposure right.
Often I can be relying on PP as a method to correct my laziness in the original exposure.
It seems we are starting to see a few cameras with good in camera processing. The new Fuji X1-Pro is being lauded as having great jpgs.
I think the GRD IV can join that club. There is a lot of in camera tweaking for the GXR as well.
