several dématricing algorithms

autochrome

Member
I made the test of several dématricing algorithms of my DNG, to attempt to show the differences of rendering.
Here is the same image, with the algorithm 'Amaze', the algorithm 'eahd', and the algorithm 'hphd'
i am not sure I have chosen an image that clearly shows the differences.

The rendering differences vary with a contrasted subject or not, over-exposed or under-exposed, shadow or light, and even according to
the subject itself (repeating pattern or not etc)

note:this is the Versailles palace, near Paris

all is without any correction, only resized in1200x900

Nota:it's absolutely necessery to crop at 200,300, or 400% to look a changing !

Thanks for doing this, I find this side of producing the image very interesting as its largely the final algorithm that produces our jpg and is quite important.
I do wonder if its more a choice than a right or wrong.
For detail and edge sharpness on my screen the "eahd" seems to be the "best". It could be the others print better? Maybe not.

BTW: I like your sample image. A couple of family members were just over visiting the Palace recently.
