Nice shot made by the guy sitting down who is a 'slight' contrast to the figures above him. I am struggling a bit to understand the structure though but am pleased to see that it has a purpose (to provide a seat).

It's actually part of a rather elaborate archway that welcomes people to the Yucatan (those at any rate who arrive by water). You are right ... it serves many purposes ... a place to rest, a place to put a=on a public performance and a place to take some nice snapshots.
