Schloß Charlottenburg (castle)

Three days ago, I shot the Schloß Charlottenburg in Berlin with the GXR, M-Mount and my new Zeiss Biogon 2,8/21mm. It's a very fine lens.
The day before, I visited the Photokina in Cologne and tested the new Voigtländer Ultron 1,8/21mm, the Leica Super-Elmar-M 3,4/21mm and the Zeiss Biogon.
After the fair I visited a dealer in town and in the evening on my flight back home, I had one more lens in my bag.
Hope you enjoy. :D

I think it may be the newly bought Zeiss - see the text above the picture.

Yes, you are right. Lens was the Zeiss Biogon 2,8/21mm ZM.

My dealer has them...at £1089.99....then you have to add the price of the divorce...it's a great, great lens though.

Hi Richard,

I paid a little bit less, 1197,-€, incl. lens shade. But the normal price in Germany is higher.

You know Richard, sometimes in life, a man has to do, what he has to do.
Do you always buy shoes, bags, lipsticks, cosmetics and all the other useless things? Do you visit two times a month the hairdresser for always 120,-€? Do you always drink champagne with your friends and eat always caviar?
No, you don't! You are modestly, your trousers are two years old, so your shoes, hair cutting does your wife, you drink always only one beer with your friends when you meet them one time a month and eat dry bread. There is no other person in the world that is more rightful for this fine lens.
Buy it and smuggle the box to your home. One day, in two or three years, she will ask you: "Oh Richard-Darling, you have a new camera?" "No honey, maybe you haven't seen this outfit. But it's old. See the scratches here and there..."
On the other hand, in a few months will be christmas. Scottish women are well known as very generous all over the world. I think, the 2,8/21mm Biogon would be a fine present for you! What do you think?
If your wife has any questions about your present, I would be happy, if she would ask me.

Sorry for my bad English, but I hope you'll understand.

Thanks for your response - it made me laugh....I'm afraid that I'm too transparent to get away with this...but I appreciate the sentiment and the cunning plan! Regarding the questions she's on her way to Berlin and will ask you directly - in German as she's fluent.

The only way forward here is for her to want something that costs more (that way I can pay twice +)...this could be my cunning plan......the guilt complex..I feel the need for some advice from Austria.

Richard
