same quality, but different weight

Since I am using Ricoh G700 and GX100, I prefere 5 Megapixels as quality with both, I constate, that pictures made with the G700 are much heavier than from GX100, e.g. 950kb with GX100 and 1.5 mb with G700. Both are jpg pictures.
What is the explication for this difference ? Somebody knows?

It's most probably caused by different (less aggressive) JPEG compression in case of the G700? Another explanation could be that the G700 (featuring smaller sensor with more MP) produces noisier images. And noise always makes the photos bigger, because noise is harder to compress.

Thank you very much Pavel for your quick response!
I think it's the other compression.
I put for every camera one part of a picture. I hope, exif will be seen here too. Compression with G700 says 3.7 and with GX100 1.6.
Strangely the two details are exactly egual weighted. The hole picture from G700 was double weight of the GX100.
I choosed an example in which G700 seems less noisy than GX100, but it seems also to me, GX100 sees more differences.
Anyway, it's hard to shoot 2 fotos for comparing.
