The subject says it already. I`m not a pro press photographer and normally shy of sad and tragic events unlike some horror papparazzos but I felt like sharing the sadness of situation of that tragic Valentine day and following night. Stanislaw
p.s. the first picture looks a bit misterious, let me explain. I went to place of first shooting and saw myself in the LCD of broadcast cam which was trained on the glass entrance to the cafe where a discussion pane took place on subject of what`s blasphemous and what`s not in caricature. In full size pict you can see bullet holes and armed police in front of cafe.My thought was that this one picture might tell the story, with the flags at half in the background. The tragic twist to the story is tha the name of cafe Krudttønden means in danish The Barrel of Gunpowder. Second picture is taken nearby where danish filmaker was shot dead by fleeing assailant.
The third and the rest show synagogue where a civil guard Dan Uzan was shot point blank and two police officers wounded.

Sad indeed, and appalling. Let's not forget also the Dutch filmmaker, Theo van Gogh, who was murdered in 2004 because of similar reasons. All these events of course were front page over here.

The photos : grim and appropriate documents. The use of the two black borders is very suitable and does the work. For me, #3 conveys the surrealism of murder and the grief very well.
